Why We Can't Have Nice Things

 


I don't know why this never occurred to me regarding the rise in emergency calls after a football game. After England lost to Argentina, calls to 999 rose 38%. Men who were drunk and angry took their frustration out on their partners and children. The Brits like to throw the word, "cunt," around a lot. It's not a word I like to use because here in America it's probably the most deragatory insult you can throw at a woman. So, the word really has little impact there because they call everyone a cunt. I guess the male species would be offended by the word, wanker. It doesn't matter because no word has been invented to describe who these deplorables are. I'm going to assume it's not just a British problem.* No, it's a male problem. Alcohol plays a factor. According to link above, the violence was only instigated by males who had been drinking. So by that you'd probably think well, it's the alcohol. Actually, it's the male who drinks at sports venues who probably drink at any and every opportunity and it still is not an excuse for placing hands on anyone, let alone the person living with you, the person you claim to be committed to. Many people can enjoy entertainment without having to get plastered. It's been awhile since I've been to a sporting event. There must be a way to limit the amount one can drink in their facility. In fact I'm sure it's doable. The problem is money, or the loss of revenue. How much blame if any should be applied to an entertainment venue if a customer goes home and beats the crap out of a woman and or children? We hold bar owners responsible for when a patron is over served, then gets in a 4,000 pound vehicle and drives home to beat his wife. A fist can do a lot of damage, physically and emotionally. I'm all for people taking responsibility for their actions. The majority of people who walk into an event come back out without any intention of sharing their frustration by a few hits to the face. There are people who walk among us who should never drink, drive, own a gun, have children or have a partner. It's truly why we can't have nice things. 

Can you understand why I find y'all not even worthy of sharing this planet with us? Unfortunately, you won't change. You've had chance after chance to try and be better but you still take the low road. To go home and beat up your wife because a fucking bunch of jocks lost a ball game is absolutely mind blowing. You're truly stupid and feral and useless.

The Best Books Of All Time?

  😬 I consider myself an avid reader. Having noted that, there are very few books I have read from The Guardian's best 100 books of all time. My list is less than a dozen, even counting a few I started and never finished. 174 prominent writers participated in creating brain food for your pleasure. They each contributed ten of their favorite reads and someone somewhere somehow tabulated the favorites. Without further ado, the number one book of all time is ...... Middlemarch. The fucking hell it is. Lol. Like art, what you like is subjective. Some people believe Manga is good stuff. Others prefer historical novels, blah, blah, blah. I suppose the list is supposed to be taken more seriously because actual writers who make a living writing books have listed what they deemed the best read. I'm not a writer. Benny, Benny And No Regrets

  It's just so hard to keep up with maga creeps. Here's Benny  Johnson, the guy who started the rumor that DC was a cesspool. He also claimed his house burned down while his family was in it. He's a liar. His house never burned down. You really can't believe much of what this asshat says because he has a habit of playing with facts. He also likes to steal other people's words. He has been fired and suspended numerous times for plagiarism, at least 41 times. It just boggles my mind when these people blatantly lie, then are outraged when called out. People like Johnson, Trump and Leavitt have probably lived their whole lives creating a make believe existence where lying is the norm.
