You Can't Handle The Truth!
Okay, just because I'm not using AI generated images anymore doesn't mean I'm not going to write about it and somewhat defend AI. This is one example which fucking irritates me. Another supposed victim of AI enticing this man who seems like an intelligent human. He blames AI for getting sucked into its clutches and ruining his life, although when he started chatting with "Eva" he was already falling apart. Bad marriage, business mistakes, drugs... Yet, it's the fault of AI he spent thousands and lost thousands taking the advice of a fucking computer.
Apparently humans are not ready or probably never will be because they can't seem to get it through their thick skulls that we control the narrative, not a machine. Stop fucking blaming AI for your neediness, your weaknesses, your vulnerability. Take some fucking responsibility for your stupid behavior in allowing to become "friends" or more with a hunk of metal and software. It truly boggles my mind how far people become invested in this and then start screaming victimhood when they themselves ruined their lives. And for news sources to play along because hell, it's interesting. Oooh, scary AI, it's going to destroy mankind. Man, I truly hope so if we are this absolutely fucking stupid. Stop giving it names! Stop personalizing it! It's not your friend, you dumbass! I don't feel one ounce of sympathy for you so called victims. You're the same type who lose all your money at casinos. You're the same type who give your life savings to some dude in Nigeria who calls you, "sweetie." You're the same type who want the easy way with little work, so you count on some zeros and ones to make your life fabulous. It's amazing to me to see how many people say they despise AI. "HURRAY, another data center is shot down!" And yet, people, millions and millions of people head on over to CHATGPT for some advice, to steal a story, write a college essay, find lawyerly speak, anything so they don't have to think. Then they become emotionally attached which is beyond my ability to even comprehend how this happens. Then when it all goes south, let's blame AI for your shitty choices.
I can count on one hand the times I used ChatGPT. I can count how many times I have claimed something AI created as my own. ZERO! I just gave up using AI art because of the toll on the environment. I never had any illusions that the AI art was mine. I give it a prompt. It spits out some garbage with six fingered, hundred yard gazing human like figures with an occasional good one. I don't have any problem if AI can write a better story, create a great song or a beautiful work of visual art. Don't blame AI for your lack of talent. You still suck whether AI is here or not. My issue is one of concern for it's very large footprint. Until AI creators can find a better solution, one that doesn't destroy the planet, no one should be using it. See, I knew I'd be like a former smoker who once used and has seen the devastating human impact it makes, but here we are.
I have no clue where AI is going in our future. For so many people who hate it, artificial intelligence sure happens to be used a lot. Many of you are worried about being lied to, given false information. You are concerned and rightfully so regarding falling into a rabbit hole of lies. What terrifies me more is watching people, humans, us, lie and lie and lie. It is so prevalent now I don't think there's a way back. This is us. I trust no one. Sad, sad, sad.
AI isn't the problem. It's you. Stay off the AI apps if you know you are vulnerable. The second you give your "friend" a name you are toast and deserve everything that happens. You can't handle the truth because the truth is pretty awful at times. Like every other aide- alcohol, drugs, betting, sex, crimes, thievery, lying, cosplaying, you need something to get through your miserable life.
Stop expecting everyone else to be your babysitter or your life coach. Try to be better as a human with all its frailties. Some days are really rough but relying on other humans and a bot named Eva to make life easier ain't gonna do it.
