The Killing Of Renee

 

We are living in such cruel times it's difficult to fully comprehend what we witness as reality. We can all watch an ICE agent shoot a woman in the head three times and still all see it differently. One thing that is certain is Trump's goons should have never been there. This tragedy would have never happened. It was absolutely preventable. But, no one is stopping it. One woman seems to have tried to stop armed cosplayers from hauling off anyone they deem suspicious looking or a darker shade of pale, and was killed. We all see her trying to leave the scene. I have not heard any audio so I don't know what was being said. Some witnesses said they heard ICE agents yelling at her to go, while others claim she was told to stop. I'm not sure what I would have done in her place. I'm sure she was terrified and her only instinct was to get away. As she pulled away, the ICE agent was indeed in harms way. I've watched several videos and can see him jump out of her way. So then, why shoot her? This is where justification is muddled. She was no threat by then as far as I could see. Authorities could have noted her license plate and followed up later with however they wanted to handle the situation. She blocked a road. Sounds like a ticket. She took off during an investigation. That's far more serious. She nearly hit someone. Definitely, serious. So, the person she almost hit was a asshole, maga masked dick. She nearly hit him.

This is when I break from both sides because the bias is incredible. The left want to make her out to be a loving, kind, widowed poet and yes, a mother, as if that makes her more important than anyone who else could have been in that vehicle. The right make her out to be a murdering thug who interfered with the law and intentionally tried to kill an agent. 

It's a bit of both and what's clear is the palpable hate and divisiveness growing in this country. Scrolling through news I have yet to see one unbiased assessment of what happened. Either you're with us or with them, no in between. The sad part now is how both sides will spin this horrific incident to their own means. The violence is beyond my ability to see how any of this can be rectified. Are we just going to go back and pretend this never happened after the Trump regime is finally done? How do we go back from this ? How do we move forward? One thing that bothers me, now, right now, is the blatant lies on both sides. I trust no one but my own eyes and even now when anyone and everyone uses artificial intelligence to try to justify their point it just makes it more difficult to believe anything anymore.

We know a young woman is dead. It was preventable. It will spark more violence. It will create more misinformation and outright lies. Our representatives had better take notice and do something before it is too late. Perhaps it already is.
