Hmm... maybe it's time to say goodnight to SNL. I believe Kam Patterson might be right when he claims the show is just for white people. I think it was supposed to be a sarcastic monologue since he's biting the hand that's feeding him. But, for how long? He mentioned he has no clue who most of the guests are and I have to agree. I'm too old for SNL. It lost any relevance decades ago. I did notice a bit of a kerfuffle, mostly coming from right wings rags, regarding Finn Wolfhard's appearance on the show last night. I believe he's the first host of the new season and maybe it didn't go so well. Castmates from, 'Stranger Things,' joined him in the monologue about going into their puberty years while working on the series.
Ok, maybe I'm just too sensitive. It's meant to be funny. I guess if your audience is a group of incels raging in the manospehere. SNL wants to be edgy. Let's say some really shitty and nasty things because we can.
One of the castmates mentioned the future of child actors. He sarcastically claimed they do so well as adults in the field. Millie Bobby Brown has proven she can cross over. She's a decent actress. The jury is still out on the others. This was not a good beginning - to mock Stranger Things, to denigrate women, to flip a finger to the future.
Maybe one way to prove you really are an adult is to say no to people who want to use you to up their ratings. Say no to spewing vulgar comments for a laugh.
Bowen Yang left the show. I think maybe we should follow his lead.
