What Makes Gavin, Gavin

 

Just looking at him and being the judgemental human I am, my first impression is that he came from money. So where does his left leaning, working for the people come in?

Well, this is interesting because Newsom comes from a long line of wealthy notables, yet he saw the other side as well. He lived the other side after his father, the judge divorced Gavin's mother, who had to work three jobs to care for her three children. Three jobs. Instead of contributing to the family he made, Judge Newsom donated his salary, just as Gavin does today. Gee, what a weird situation. I don't know how Gavin felt about his father, but he certainly saw the struggle his mom faced. His sister recalls their mother warning them Christmas presents will be meager. 

Gavin made his money investing in a winery, then started his political career. All that you can find on the internet. 

A lot of people don't like Newsom, many from the left because he doesn't tow the line. The Dem's in office still believe they can win with words and bills and votes somewhere in the future, while our country is being destroyed right now. They bring the pencils to the knife fight. Gavin has other ideas. What makes a bully falter? Laugh in his face. Give the bully a mirror to see how absolutely stupid and ridiculous their screeching and warnings look to everyone else. It's about time someone showed the orange man what a dumbass clown he is. Okay, it's not exactly the way we'd like to see our politicians behave. It's childish and silly and sad. But, Gavin has figured out the way to get under this regime's thin skin. Mock them. Laugh. Poke. Taunt, then ignore their threats. Ignore their plans to sweep away the homeless, arrest immigrants, deny women healthcare and continue working for the people. Newsom is obviously doing something right because California has the fourth largest economy in the world. In the world. 

He doesn't stick to the Democratic playbook and that pisses people off. He's friendly with the 'enemy' and has a differing opinion regarding trans athletes competing with biological women. That makes me like him all the more. Not that I agree with the assholes he hangs out with, or his opinions on difficult modern day issues, but that he's not a wishy washy, say want they want to hear type. 

I don't mind that he's eye candy as well. JB Pritzker is also a cool guy who fights back but Pritzker does come from money and never had a parent struggle to make ends meet, although his family history is one of sorrow  with both of his parents dying young. He's just a nice, rich guy who may die from a heart attack at any minute. He occasionally gives Trump a tweak, a pinch, but doesn't want to go nuts with the nah nah nah nah nah nahs. 

Right now I'm enjoying the Newsom tweets, although I hear he has a staff who actually sit around a table, thinking of ways to make Trump's life shorter. He approves the message, so it's all good. He knows exactly how to work the clown and his circus. Would I vote for him? I would vote for a stick at this point if it got rid of Donald, although I really am hoping for a nice, big aneurysm, sooner rather than later.
