R-E-S-P-E-C-T

I got in a kerfuffle awhile ago because I made a comment about a post I don't even remember what the full story was about. I did reply that women sometimes enable abusers. Maybe the use of the word, enable, wasn't right. A male responder took offense by my comment. He tore me a new one. Maybe the way I conveyed my message wasn't right. Maybe if we were sitting at a table instead of through the Internet ether, we could have had a real discussion without the rancor and accusations on both sides. He pointed out that women are always the victims. Always. Even after being beaten to a pulp for the nth time? Even after he goes to jail and she testifies on his behalf? Even when friends, family and the court system try to help her and she goes back? When does she stop being the victim and become a willing participant?

Do I really have to say that women should never be beaten, assaulted, raped, disfigured, gaslighted and everything else a man does to a woman?

But, I also get angry when women stay in a relationship where she is used as a punching bag. So, when a woman remains in a terrible situation, is she not allowing the cretin to continue his behavior?

I'm not sure what Ken Paxton did this time for his wife to finally say, enough, because this wasn't something new. He's a typical Republican alpha male. They have zero respect for women. Women are there to have sex, make babies with (preferably male spawn) keep a clean house, raise the children and look the other way when they have affairs.

Let's talk about the Mrs. who is divorcing him on biblical grounds. The poor, long suffering Christian woman who stood by her man time after time after time. Sorry, lady, you stayed. And when you stay that tells your cheatin spouse, it's ok to mess around, the little lady will be there, washing my underwear, cooking my steak, allowing the charade to continue.

Men would still be shitards and try to control women, but they can't do that if there's no one willing to permit it.

Naturally, the male commenter accused me of hating men when in the beginning he said I hated women for calling them enablers. I hate the behavior. I hate to see women so insecure they will stay with a man who cares nothing for them. Men are liars if they say they do. Anyone who treats their partner with disrespect, who abuses, cheats, gaslights and dismisses their concerns is not someone to love. And yes, women can be just as rotten to their partner. Let's get real here. As long as we remain a patriarchal society nothing will change. Who's in prison for pimping for Jeffrey Epstein? Who isn't and never will suffer any consequences? Yeah.

When women stand up and say, "I deserve to be treated with dignity and respect," and stand by those words, then perhaps we can make a change.

The only victims here are the children, always the children who watch and learn.
