Matthew Gurich
"They don't reflect our views," they say
To toss an elderly woman away
To shove her out, then stand about
Impervious to sworn duty, they flout
To serve and protect, they swear
For each other they will be there
Then turned their backs to the broken one
shattered trust and bones, her caring son
Now sits beside her in wonderment
Is this the rule of government?
From Canton cops who hide evidence
to back their own takes precedence
To be indifferent and purposely cruel
Is this an exception to or from the rule?
*In October of last year a Sacramento sheriff, Matthew Gurich, was seen on video pushing a 71 woman out the door of the police station. She suffered a broken femur. Shocking as it is to watch Gurich shove her so viciously, is the behavior of the officers who witnessed the incident and walked away. It wasn't until March of this year that Gurich was fired and now finally faces assault charges. If not for this video going public it would probably have been buried. The official response was this isn't the norm. I leave it up to you to decide. Also, trying to find a photo of Gurich is nearly impossible. There's no doubt as to what he did. Why is he still being protected?
*Canton, Massachusetts. Another incidence of possible cover-up by police officers in the death of John O'keefe.
