Fat Shaming


 Speaking of diets... Ferrerman's post reminded me of this skit. Lucy realizes she has gained twenty two pounds over the last ten years. She wants to lose at least twelve to be a substitute dancer in one of Ricky's shows.

First of all, Lucy went from 110 to 132. She's 5'7". In today's world her ideal weight should be between 122-149. She was never overweight, but she goes through the Lucy process to try and lose the weight.

I'm tall. I think I'm shrinking because I'm now 5'9". I was 5'10" and my lowest weight was 115, which was ridiculous and dangerous. I don't do diets anymore, but I've been there, done that. 

Here's a few of my diets...

For two months the only thing I ate was one hotdog per meal. Yes, I certainly lost the weight. I also fainted a lot.

Then there was the Ayds diet. Eat one chewy square before a meal and the weight falls off. It doesn't.

Like Lucy, I gained weight during my pregnancy and it was nearly impossible to get rid of.

I danced with Richard Simmons, walked with Leslie Sansome, did squats with Denise Austin and peddled miles on my stationary bike until it eventually became a clothes hanger.

I smoked. I fasted. I walked until my knees locked.

I now have a scale which collects dust, but back in the day I was obsessed with the scale. I'd weigh myself ten, fifteen times a day.

I don't remember if Ricky fat shamed Lucy. I do remember the moment my ex fat shamed me.

We were getting ready to go to his company picnic. I bought a really cute summer dress which had a weird bulge on the waistline so I asked the ex if I looked ok, meaning the look of the waist. He said I could lose some weight. Like Lucy, I weighed 130 pounds. I was devastated. 

I remember going out with the girls one night and dancing with strangers, one who told me not to lose any weight because I looked good. No, he didn't boost my ego. He made me feel like an object, a play toy. 

I did manage to lose 160 pounds (my ex) which was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Denver, Dover, Dever

  OMG! Kelly Denver, I mean Dover, no, Dever was on the stand in the Karen Read Trial. Holy Moly!  In 2023, she wrote a statement claiming she saw two Canton police officers who were in the sallyport "for a wildly long time." where Karen Read's SUV had been towed. Now Devers, who gets snippy if her name is mispronounced, says that was all a false memory. She now says she wasn't even working at the time the SUV was brought in. Taking the stand on Monday, she accused the defense of angrily confronting her after learning she had changed her testimony, then Dever's states they threatened to charge her with perjury. She said she went to the FBI to make a complaint. Alan Jackson, the defense attorney asks, "Do you have a report?" Naturally, she did not, because she made no such report.  Of all the people who have pissed me off, and there is a long list, she is by far the worst. She is a cop whose recall of events is crucial. She is hostile and a terrible liar....

FAFO Literally

   Gosh, well isn't that generous. $5,000.  I'm gonna go out right now and find me an Elon, ready to spare some sperm and have me some babies. I'll be rich! Oh, wait... Ooh, that's gonna put a dent in my FA for the cause. Let's see... $5,000 - $2,854 = $2,146 left for me to... Oh, wait... Hmm... so, $70 x 12 = $840, which leaves me with $1,306. So, I will need a bassinet, crib, some bedding, burpy towels, baby wipes, baby bottles, formula, breast pump, room monitor, pediatrician, onesies, uh ... I need to work! Who's going to care for my baby while I'm gone!? I'm so tired. I can't do this. The government has shut down all assistance. What am I going to do with a baby!? I think I'll go have a glass of wine with my peeps instead. *All information Googled.
