Yodel Lay Hee Hoo!
I had to look up what an echo chamber meant in regards to social media.
Is this Bluesky? I'm going to say, probably. I haven't been on the site very long, but I do notice the repetitive rhetoric going on. I've seen a few pushbacks where someone (me) might have a difference of opinion and get completely shut down or blocked. I'm not a sociable person so I don't rely on validation from others, but I see it is important to people to be accepted by like minded individuals. The starter packs make me run the other way. Ick. I don't think I will fall into any propagandist gibberish because I'm too cynical, probably to a fault. In these dark days I consider that an asset, not a liability. But, it's hard to make any lasting connections with that attitude.
I joined because I wanted to be around people who do not accept the Trump regime. If I wanted to argue with MAGAS I'd go over to The Daily Mail. I don't want to argue but I don't like it when false information is given. A recent example is when someone posted that a doctor claims Trump is very ill and could kick over any minute. No mention of doctor's name, no facts given.
I haven't run into any diehard Trump minions. Perhaps they are in disguise, spying, spreading lies. I do see some very sad people who post selfies of themselves in skimpy outfits or displaying their fat, hairy bellies. Block and block.
Yes, I do see a pattern on Bluesky where you better tow the line, don't make waves, don't voice a differing opinion... Step in line, comrade!
I don't go to right wing media sources. What's the point? I think I'm where I should be, with people who care for others and want the best for everyone. So, I'll stick around for a bit. I enjoy the witty memes, Trump jokes, cats and pretty scenery.
Occasionally, though, we just have to shut off the echo chamber and go outside to look at clouds.
