"Shall We Play A Game?"

One of my favorite movies is, 'War Games,' starring Matthew Broderick as a nerd hacker who winds up entering a military supercomputer which likes to play games. Unbeknownst to "David" he's playing real war games. Eventually, he has to outsmart a computer to save the planet.

This movie came out in 1983 when computers were the size of mini Coopers and only highly intelligent minds were using them.

As we have witnessed hackers are still breaching supposedly secure sites. My information was stolen from a medical company who notified customers months after the data was stolen. "Greetings. Oh, by the way, your data was stolen ten months ago. Oops."

In the letter they apologized then told us to be careful. Uh, you mofo's weren't too careful with our information, yet you have the gall to tell us to be vigilant!

Oh, sorry, I went off the rails for a moment.

Oommmmm...

Back to War Games in 2025, where the head of our defense department shares war strategy with a reporter.

You may ask yourself, is this shit for real?

The greasy haired, dunderheaded, boozy eyed gnome reacted by attacking the reporter's reputation after he was questioned regarding his giant snafu.

As I lay my head upon my pillow and stare at the ceiling for hours devising ways to end this regime I realize we need some "Davids" to save the planet.

Protests are good. The Reich is angry. Feathers are ruffled and threats have been made towards anyone who cares defy the orange man and his jesters.

But, we all know you can't bring a knife to a gunfight.

We need "Davids."

"Shall we play a game?"
