Hope For The Best, Prepare For The Worst

Although I was never tested, I'm sure I contracted COVID-19 in the early stages of the pandemic. With flu like symptoms and overall pain, I was a lump of misery for several days. I recovered eventually with the help of a few left over pain killers from a previous surgery. I know self medicating is frowned upon, but I was desperate and hurting. Those few pills helped me through the worst of the virus. This was before the vaccines were approved by the way. It wasn't like I was drinking bleach as our orange leader suggested, while his sycophants nodded in agreement.

I still suffer from a weird effect with my olfactory senses. I cannot stand the smell of vanilla yogurt or instant mashed potatoes. It's a small price to pay.

There has been a growing movement in this country for parents to forgo vaccinations for their children.

Now we see a once eradicated disease, measles, spread among the most vulnerable. A six year old girl died from the disease because her parents refused to get their children vaccinated. Both parents have no regret for their decision. They say it was in God's hands. I would absolutely like to throttle these brainless shits who are allowed to procreate and raise children. They should be in prison.

Unfortunately, we have a nut for the Secretary of Health and Human Services, who advocates alternative remedies for your afflictions. He recommends vitamin A to assuage the severity of measles. Now children are being treated for liver damage.

When Barack Obama was president there was a serious threat of ebola becoming a widespread epidemic. Several American healthcare workers became infected while in Africa. They were transported back to the states and received critical care. They all survived. Obama didn't limit aid to just American citizens but reached out to the African nations affected and offered any help they needed. The Obama administration immediately responded by allowing experts to advise and assist in a most assuredly disaster if not for the quick actions of our leader.

Can you imagine what would happen if we were to be hit with any serious virus or contagious disease during the next four years?

As a relative used to say, "Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst."

Frightening how stupid people can be in large quantities, about very basic things.
