Whoo Hoo Woo
When I went back to college a few years ago I realized something about myself. When I studied at home I needed to go over the same material time after time before it stuck. However, when I was in a classroom and the instructor was teaching a lesson I retained the information. I think it has to do with fear. For the first eight years of my education I was taught by the nuns of have no mercy. They were mean little ladies who patrolled the aisles in their flowing black habits and wore a cross around their waist which was probably used like a ninja star, ready to aim at the naughty boys who couldn't sit still in class.
Apparently fear is a big motivator. At least for me that seems to be the case. Fear opens up another corridor in my brain. It's like the Squid game in my head.
Speaking of Squid game, I've seen both seasons and I liked them, the first one more than the second. I've watched a lot of Korean movies and tv series and find many quite entertaining and clever.
The Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix is a gem. A young woman who has Asperger's syndrome and is obsessed with whales becomes an attorney and struggles to live in a "normal" world.
A few on Prime I've also enjoyed...
Train to Busan
The Wailing
Night of the Undead
Parasite
Lots of clever writing, but beware there are many duds where actors are too over the top, and stay away from dubbed movies. Mute the movie and use cc.
