Trumpalooza

I like to read books and watch movies where children are the heroes who save us all from aliens, clowns, creeps and human predators. Stephen King has figured it out. Use children. Who were the protagonists in the movie, 'It?' Kids. Who saved a town from gangsters and brought back gold? The Goonies. Who saved us from the Dementors? Harry and crew.  One big television hit was, 'Stranger Things,' where young adults saved the world from the The Demogorgon. And one of my favorite raunchy, gorey movies is, 'The Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, where teenagers obviously go after zombies. Adults are rarely seen in these films.  In the Scout movie they've all been evacuated and have left their children to fight the enemy. And, who unfortunately saved Ohio from being vaporized by aliens? The kids in Super 8.

Why do we enjoy seeing children save us? What happened to us, the adults and our lack of believing we can get it done? So, we don't even try anymore? Children still believe that the world is beautiful and love is fundamental. They still believe there are more good within us than evil. They also don't bitch about bad knees and consider the odds on whether they'll make it back in time for, 'Wheel of Fortune.'

One day. Let's all be children for one more day. Let's walk together, hand in hand and fight the monster, together. So many of us have given up because every single day we see that Trumpalooza is getting stronger. We feel helpless.

Seriously, we gotta stop expecting the kids to fix what we fucked up. If worse comes to really bad and Trumpalooza calls his minions to destroy us on November 3rd, I say all Boomers be on the front line. Next come Generations X, Y and Z. Alpha can sit this one out because we owe it to them to put our big pants on and fight for them.

Are ya with me!?
