It's A Mystery
So, this is the type of stuff little Margaret had trouble comprehending back in fifth grade. Why do you need to pray to God? Doesn't he have the power to intervene? Why'd the Pope get the cancer in the first place?
Oooh, it's because God works in mysterious ways, like allowing a deranged white boy who is angry at the world shoot terrified children in their heads as they cried for their mothers. Or, when a predator takes a child, rapes, then kills her or him. Mysterious, indeed. I know the believers will come up with the answers as to why faith is important even when an orange man is murdering children. Even when women are being raped. Explain why he can't fix the weather. According to the magats, Democrats have the ability but why doesn't God come in and help us out a bit?
Ohhh, he's testing us. For what?
I cannot say with certainty there is no dude watching us, making a list and checking it twice.
To what point?
If prayer makes you feel better, fine. I believe it's just a form of meditation which helps to relieve the prayer's stress and makes them feel good that they are doing something.
Prayers won't stop cancer from spreading. Maybe science will. Prayers don't do anything but allow people to avoid reality.
The Pope seems like a nice guy. Nice guys die every single day and murderers live to kill another day.
It's all very mysterious.
