Flag Day I Guess

I'm sorry. I won't be celebrating Flag Day today because, well, I have never celebrated Flag Day. I'm pretty sure the majority of Americans may have a passing thought about it when they see more than the usual flags waving, and if a certain clown wasn't engaging in another crime by having a parade just for him under the guise it's to pay homage to a piece of material. I realize it's a symbolic gesture honoring our... uh, er, eh. Let's move on. People get sentimental over their flags. Well, some do. My Dad hung one up on special occasions. I never did. We have one on the landing here, but veterans would wheeze and gasp if they saw it. It's faded and torn and dusty and sad.

Hopefully, the orange man's tribute to himself will be a bust. Storms are expected in the area, so that's a silver lining in a dark cloud.

But, what if June 14th was just Flag Day on a Saturday? Why, here are some jolly good questions asked by no one human.

1)Yes, it's always on June 14th

2) "Yay, it's f.. Saturday. Another hour of sleep. I need coffee. Is this milk still good? Hope dumbass gets zapped."

3)Since it's on a Saturday this year, I will visit a friend, read a book, finish my painting, vacuum, paint a sign, check out the park to see if my red hatter town has any brave protesters, wave my sign, then make burgers as I watch a Netflix movie. You are welcome to hang a flag, preferably the red, white and blue, but a Mexican, Ukrainian, LBGTQ or Canadian flag will do as well.

4)I do believe Pennsylvania is the only state where it is an official holiday, which sucks since it's on a Saturday.

5)Nooooo! Betsy Ross did not sew the first flag. That was some public relations crap. Even back in the day, politicians made up shit to look good, although, I don't know who she was and really don't care.

So, that's all you need to know about Flag Day, which isn't much, unless you really like flags.

Forget anything regarding tanks and weak bladdered wannabe kings. 🇺🇸 🫡
