I Think I Can, I Think...
Before I begin this completely unrelated story, or maybe it isn't. Thank-you for your service, dead soldiers. I'm sort of glad you're not here to see this. You fought bravely and honorably. Rest in peace.

Ok, I've noticed these adorable little robots out on the street and feel sad. Sad because they'll never be able to exist in this country. Sometimes, I watch YouTube videos of a dude who just walks around Japan. It's quite beautiful and relaxing. As we walk together I notice people leave out little Buddhas or trinkets in gardens where there are shrines. Sometimes we walk past little shops where beautiful pottery and gorgeous lanterns decorate the storefront. The only thing I think, after I think, "So cute," is, "That would be gone in five seconds, here." Here, being the US. We really can't have nice things because people take them. There was a local story in the news about a nursery who leaves blooming plants and flowers out and live by the honor code. Stick some money in the cash box, please. I've seen these many of times here in Wisconsin, mostly farmers selling produce. In the story about the plant heist, there is also an image provided showing three people stealing hundreds of dollars worth of plants. They aren't kids. Two are over sixty.
There was a story years ago about a robot who traveled Canada unmolested, then came to America and was assaulted within an hour.
When did it become okay to take what isn't ours? How does one sleep?
So, I feel for you, little robot. Your journey is rife with danger and the odds are against you. In America, anyway. Some people will applaud the destruction of little robot, arguing it takes away jobs from humans. It does. Do you know how dangerous delivering pizza can be? But, unless little robot can carry a gun or can protect itself with an invisible shield of twenty milliamps, then I don't see how this idea would work. I can visualize a line of dead people as happy little robot carries on its duty.
Kind of sad. They're so cute and bring happiness, like chocolate. But, not here, my dudes, not here.
