Is It Safe?

 

Golly, the douche bags keep coming. It's kind of difficult to feel anything but disgust for the male gender. Trump and assholes who blocked the women's tennis team. Mike Vrabel claims nothing went on with him and a reporter although she was fired and he is going to counseling for doing nothing wrong. Eric Swalwell is gone because the Democrats did something. He's still a douche, but now he's his wife's douche.

So many others ..

Including this guy, Russell Brand, who now walks around with a Bible everywhere he goes. It's the plot used by prisoners seeking parole at a hearing. His trial, which will begin in October, where six women accuse him of sexual assaults ranging from licking them to raping them. 

Here's Brand's defense. Yes, he had a consensual, exploitive romp with a sixteen year old when he was thirty years old. He says he was a very immature guy at that age. I'm sure he's thinking it was all perfectly legal except it got a little weird, like when she kept saying stop and he thought that meant to continue raping her. I guess our ideas of what constitutes rape is different between men and women. Women beg you to stop. Men lose their hearing and continue on because they know the odds are in their favor. All ya gotta do is blame her, call her a tramp, a whore, a homewrecker. Make her feel it was all her fault for being a tease, asking for it. And legal repercussions!? Ha! Yeah, no worries. Look at the Tate brothers. Two vile, disgusting pieces of walking garbage who are protected by our president . You know, the orange man who raped his own wife, the man who takes what he wants, lays waste everywhere he goes and carries on.

I am still bristling when I see the image of the tennis players playing back seat to grinning apes. That's just one little moment we go through every day as a woman. Being ignored, being groped, raped, beaten, abused...

More than the male species who still act like neanderthals, I am disheartened by the reaction of women who will protect a pedophile. Bondi, Leavitt, the wives of rapists who stand by their mate. I'm still waiting for Dave Grohl's wife to leave him after he fathered a child during their marriage. I'm waiting to see what Swawell's wife will do. Groveling and money can sway a person to stick around. So, unlike a great many of you who put the blame solely on the male, I don't. Yes, a woman should be able to wear what ever she pleases. She should be able to accept an offer of having a drink in a man's hotel room without the expectation of being drugged and raped. We take chances all the time. We roll the dice and hope we made the right choice. "If I go out with this guy, am I safe?"

Women need to protect themselves because we cannot expect support and help from men. They will circle the wagons and protect their brothers. I'd like to say we are seeing the exception, not the rule, when every day we wake up to another story of a woman being demeaned, discarded, beaten, abused, raped and always, always treated like they are nothing but toys for men to play with. I would love to believe it's just a few. It's not. I've lived long enough to know - they are not the exception. 

Anyway, another rant, another useless fucking cry out from my heart while men like Vrabel cheats, fucks, demeans and feels embarrassed because he got caught, gets a free pass. Men like Brand who try to explain away a rape. In his mind it was all in good fun. 

Sorry, guys, at the moment you make me sick. And don't be surprised that I'm going to teach my 13 year old to fight to kill you if you try to harm her. There is no justice in the court systems. Not for women.
