The Bathrobe Lady

The woman in the bathrobe. If you're not familiar with the story, let me give you the cliff notes. Sam Stroozas is a reporter based in Minnesota. When she heard a commotion outside, she didn't have time to change, so she gathered with fellow rebels in her bathrobe and slippers. If you don't live in a bubble you are aware of what Trump is trying to do in Minneapolis. He wants to intimidate and threaten anyone who disagrees with his authoritarian mindset.
He underestimated the people of the Northern state. He probably assumed they were a bunch of rubes who would cower and fold. He could have gone to any other blue city to raise havoc but I believe he chose Minneapolis because he's a man who holds grudges. He wanted to show Tim Walz a little pain and remind him who won the election. He also thought it would be easy to frighten a community of Midwestern citizens- people who originated from Viking blood and live and thrive in the harsh Winters of the Country, who don't bend or break. Two beautiful people were murdered by thugs who got off cosplaying with real guns. Word is ICE is heading out. The other word is, that's a ruse. They just intend to put on better disguises and slink around in the dark to haul away people who look shady, mostly brown shady, but color isn't a factor anymore. It's anyone who gets in their way, who pisses them off. They aren't leaving, but the people of Minnesota aren't backing down either.
The photographer, Leila Navidi, who took the picture of Sam Stroozas and other brave citizens deserves a Pulitzer at the least. If any image depicted what is happening in this country, it is this, people who are fighting back. Not with guns or violence, but with phones to record history. Names and numbers- that is imperative because the regime can lie as much as they care to, but these images don't lie.
Kudos to the people of Minnesota who showed the world we won't be bullied. You are awesome. Thank-you, Sam Stroozas and especially Leila Navidi for giving me a sense of hope and pride to be an American, something I haven't felt in a very long time.
