Group Hugs?
This is an interesting parody of someone portraying Emma Watson who is talking about her relationship with writer JK Rowling. Rowling has been labeled a transphobic because she believes transgenders take the meaning of being a woman away from women, which is a bunch of Hogwarts.
Can we really be friends with people who have such opposing viewpoints? Must I respect someone's right to say vile and cruel things about another human being? Well, no, I don't believe it's possible. Can we live with each other? The orange brigade thinks not. The "woke" still believe communication is the key. Let's talk. It works in Lalaland. I can't count how many times the profilers on Criminal Minds were able to talk down a crazed serial killer who just wiped out three families with zero emotion, yet when Spencer whispers soothing words like, "Hey, I know how you feel. I understand. It'll be ok. Just put your bazooka down and give me a hug," the psychopath folds like a little baby. All he needed was a kind word.
I feel this is where we're at with our Democrats in Congress. They want to talk down the unsubs. They believe there's still a smidgen of human decency inside of them. Can you imagine Chuck Schumer slowly walking towards the orange man, his hands out in complacency... "It's ok, Donald. We understand how hard you try to fight the demons inside. We can work this out, together. Take my hand. No, give me the hand without the slimy makeup. Come on, friend. Group hugs."
No, we certainly cannot be friends. Can we be respectful enemies? Fake Emma wants to remain friends while vehemently protesting Rowling's warped opinion about women somehow being cheated out of being a woman if more women would like to join the sisterhood. I'd like to open my arms out to JK and whisper, "Ma'am, it's not a transgender who is making you feel less than. It never was and never will a transgender who demeans you, dismisses you, ignores you and treats you like you're not worthy. Now, put down the vibrator and come give me a hug. We'll make some popcorn and talk. That's it. There, there."
I'm sure Rowling has heard it all, yet stands by her belief that only she can suffer in womanly fashion. It's a bit sad and a tad mean to lay this on Watson. I'm sure she's trying to be diplomatic like our Congress who doesn't understand we are way past group hugs.
