Maybe It Was An Art Experiment

Am I the only one left who doesn't drink and pop pills? It seems to be the norm, especially before one gets on a plane.

This guy, James Rondeau, the CEO of The Art Institute of Chicago decided to strip during a flight from Chicago to Munich last month. I don't know anymore details, whether he was singing or dancing, but Rondeau has decided to take some time off after his high flying performance.

I know it's tough out there. I took antidepressants for a few years. They were prescribed by a doctor who has a degree and made me check in every month to see how I was doing. But, how does self medicating make anything better? The only difference between Rondeau and the unhoused addicts who look like zombies on the streets is money, or lack of. Rondeau's salary is a million a year. One million dollars. Maybe it was a one time oops. Maybe he just hates flying. Maybe.

According to worldometer, $360 billion was spent on illegal drugs worldwide last year. That's cocaine, heroin, cannabis and synthetic drugs.

Rondeau works at the Art Institute, where they have pretty pictures to look at. He can eat at any restaurant in town. He can buy nice suits and shoes and golf clubs and yet...

Everyone has to be numbed before they go out into the world. Well, except for me. I'm not gloating. I'm actually terrified that I might be more right than wrong. People are walking around, driving buses or trucks, or teaching children or piloting planes while on something to make life a little rosier.

If you have made the choice to ingest pills, downed with a drink or two, have at it. But do not go out in public. Stay home. Build a fort of blankets and hide away, numb yourself from reality. Better yet, get some help.
