This and That
Now why would a person have $3,000 cash in their possession these days, unless they were dealing/buying drugs, hiring a hit man, bribery, paying a kidnapper...?
Why Kristi? It's very odd. If I carried a purse, which I haven't in five years, there would be two nickels stuck together, along with old tissue and a forgotten phone number. I haven't used paper money in years.
Whaddya up to, lady?

I had a good Easter Sunday, even though I'm highly cynical of the rising Jesus bit. Sounds like David Blaine theatrics. And speaking of magic... A guest of mine asked if I'd like to see a card trick. Well, sure, why not. She had 21 cards in her hand and told me to pick one, then put it back. She then proceeded to make three piles and I was to point out which pile my card was in. She did this three times. And then she picked out my card.
I do not get it.
After going to bed and mulling over how the trick works, I finally grabbed the phone and looked online to see how it's done.
I still don't get it!
It's hoodoo voodoo! That's what I call math, because that's all it is, a trick using math.

I think I'm gonna get me a blue check on Bluesky. I will feel special. There's only one me and I need to let you all know.
Btw, why do celebrities who have a zillion followers usually follow just two people? We're busy, too, out here, the regular folks, but if I have a few seconds to vet and click, so do you.
Just wait until I get my blue check.

So, I finally deleted Amazon. I'm going to miss the movies, but other than that, I don't need it.
They got testy when I had to confirm deleting my account. I verified through my email that I was done. A few minutes later I got another email asking me to verify my decision so I clicked again. I then got the response, "You already deleted account!"
Well, fuck, don't ask me twice then.
They warn you, too. You will never, ever be allowed to join ever again. Wow. Chill, man. And up yours.

Speaking of witch... (Ho hum) I finally watched 'Wicked.'
Oh boy, I'm old. I found it incredibly boring and the songs all sound the same to me. That Ariana is a cutie, with talent, but I hear she stole someone's dude so points off for that.
The only movie I'm looking forward to is the Bob Dylan one with Timothy Chalamet. They both seem like vagabonds who smoke to excess and only shower once a week. But, I love Dylan. I think I will cry when he dies. The first time I saw him in concert was at a school I eventually enrolled in years later. It was held in the school's gym and the floor roiled like a ship on the high seas as we danced. It was magical and a little nauseating. I don't recall crying for a celebrity who died. I am old enough to remember when Elvis died and that felt weird for some reason. A big time star dying at a fairly young age- sad, but not waterworks sad.
Ah, but since I no longer have Prime Video or Netflix, I guess I'll have to buy the book.

Awhile back I was feeling really despondent about living in my adopted state of Wisconsin, but I am absolutely chuffed with how our people have been going out and protesting the evil empire. I'm also so proud of our Governor, Tony Evers. Not only did he lock in 400 years of school funding, he has sent a guideline to all state employees on what to do if they are confronted with an ICE agent. Omg, I love this guy. I love Wisconsin.

This photo of Eric's basement makes me chuckle. We didn't have a basement in my parent's house, but we did have a porch, where a few of us passed the joint around. We could look through the kitchen window to keep an eye out on the old folks. We managed to clear out the smoke and smell before either one stuck their head out to see what we were doing. Someone dropped the ball one cool autumn evening and didn't notice Dad in the kitchen looking for a midnight snack. Before we called Defcom one to open a window, he had already opened the door. We stood still. He stood still. The odor of Acapulco Gold wafted by. He backed himself into the kitchen and closed the door.
We never spoke of it again until after he had died. I think we felt it was safe to finally mention it and laugh, as we passed around the joint.
