(((Sigh))) What a day. I was going to post a blog about the possible demise of libraries, but I got distracted watching Cory Booker stand for 24 +hours. He was absolutely amazing and I think we needed that today. 

I didn't know much about Strom Thurmond other than he was a true red hatter, a racist, vile piece of garbage. I didn't know he filibustered for over 24 hours defending segregation. He also had a child by a black woman. Actually a girl, 16, who worked in the Thurmond household. Strom was 22 at the time. Anyone want to bet it wasn't a consensual relationship?

He never publicly acknowledged his daughter. She knew who her father was yet remained quiet until he died at the age of 100. 

As I went throughout the day, running errands, doing chores, I continued to watch Booker with new respect. I was critical of him after Trump's rant before the joint session of Congress. Very few of the Dems in office seemed to realize the deep doo doo we were in and they were definitely not attuned to how their constituents were shaking in anger and fear.

Booker listened. We listened back. He is the kind of person we need and want in D. C., working for us.

Susan Crawford has won over Brad Schimel.

Buying votes didn't work, Elon. Now, stay the hell away. I guess I won't be moving after all, although they showed a map of who voted where and my county is all red. Meh. I already knew that. So, eat a bag of dicks, bruh.

So, a good day amongst the rubble.

Denver, Dover, Dever

  OMG! Kelly Denver, I mean Dover, no, Dever was on the stand in the Karen Read Trial. Holy Moly!  In 2023, she wrote a statement claiming she saw two Canton police officers who were in the sallyport "for a wildly long time." where Karen Read's SUV had been towed. Now Devers, who gets snippy if her name is mispronounced, says that was all a false memory. She now says she wasn't even working at the time the SUV was brought in. Taking the stand on Monday, she accused the defense of angrily confronting her after learning she had changed her testimony, then Dever's states they threatened to charge her with perjury. She said she went to the FBI to make a complaint. Alan Jackson, the defense attorney asks, "Do you have a report?" Naturally, she did not, because she made no such report.  Of all the people who have pissed me off, and there is a long list, she is by far the worst. She is a cop whose recall of events is crucial. She is hostile and a terrible liar....

   Gosh, well isn't that generous. $5,000.  I'm gonna go out right now and find me an Elon, ready to spare some sperm and have me some babies. I'll be rich! Oh, wait... Ooh, that's gonna put a dent in my FA for the cause. Let's see... $5,000 - $2,854 = $2,146 left for me to... Oh, wait... Hmm... so, $70 x 12 = $840, which leaves me with $1,306. So, I will need a bassinet, crib, some bedding, burpy towels, baby wipes, baby bottles, formula, breast pump, room monitor, pediatrician, onesies, uh ... I need to work! Who's going to care for my baby while I'm gone!? I'm so tired. I can't do this. The government has shut down all assistance. What am I going to do with a baby!?
