Do Not Give Up

 

There's no getting around the fact we will suffer dearly these next four years. The damage done already will take years to undo. We might lose our once allies for a very long time. Agencies that have been eliminated will need to be restored. Seeking justice for those responsible for America's worst historical event we have ever faced, will take many years.

I was sceptical about protests, or boycotting companies who are taking advantage in the Trump regime to make vast amounts of money, but I have changed my mind. We need to continue to poke at them until they are no longer viable.We can make a difference if we, the citizens take action. I no longer trust either political party to do the right thing. The right wing establishment wants a white patriarchy, where women are second class citizens, and people of color and certain religions will be eliminated. The left clings to an idealism that we can overcome adversity by just sitting tight, let it all play out until there is a scorched earth. Then they will pick through the remains.

The ideal situation is one we cannot say out loud, although I wish it every day. The alternative is to get in their face, like a pesky fly. Continue to call your representatives. Do not let up. Call out any member who is making a profit from the misery of children and innocent human beings.

Four years. It will seem a lifetime, but we can inflict much pain, and we will.

Then, when we sift through the rubble, we call out their names, expose their crime, and make them pay for what they have done.

There must be some new rules if we manage to survive, where we can guarantee a man like Donald Trump can never have power over us, ever again.

We will never be the same. It is heartbreaking to admit this, yet, we cannot lie down and give in. So many people died for us. We cannot let them down.
