What Would Leo Say?

 "Wrong does not cease

to be wrong because the

majority share in it." - Leo Tolstoy

That quote depicts our Trump times to the T. It also seems appropriate for what happened at a recent sporting event.

There is video out there I watched on YouTube, of an old man apparently having some sort of dispute with a few people in the hockey crowd.

The narrator describes what's happening since there's no audio of what the players in the argument are saying, but you can tell by the mannerisms, it's a heated argument. You can hear mom telling the guy to f off. Nice.

What started it all was, according to the influencer, some old geezer, the influencer calls a "scumbag," grabbed a puck a young male was trying to get. He refused to give it to the boy. A wife of one of the player's witnessed the scene and she found another puck to give to the boy. She wanted to remain incognito so she had an employee hand it off to the kid.

Everyone clapped and cheered for the kid, then booed the old man. The man got up and started talking to the employee who just ignored him. Then he moved over to Mom and kid and his head was nearly decapitated by mom. He then started walking up the stairs, following the employee.

Kid gave the two fisted triumph and the crowd roared.

I read the comments, most attacking the old man, calling him one of Trump's braindead fools, words of that nature.

I have watched this YouTuber before. He talks about politics and sports, and politics in sports, that sort of slant. I'm not naming names. It's there if you're interested. And that's ironic I know because I'm going to discuss backing up your claim when you show zero evidence, and I'm refusing to link the vlog.

So, apparently this kid had been banging on the glass window to get that puck to come down. I hear that's verboten in hockey land. Do not bang on the windows. I yell at kids who do it at zoos, so I'm thinking... this old man is the only f-ing adult in the joint. The kid wants that puck and is determined to get it, even if he breaks some rules. The old man grabs the puck and refuses to hand it over to kid. I'm guessing he's trying to make a point. "'Don't be a d*ck, kid."' Unfortunately, it backfired big time. No one cares about rules. Let the kid have the puck! Right? Right?

So, there is no video of what may have transpired before the puck fell. Strange how that important piece of evidence is nowhere to be seen.

I guess I have two points. Don't be an f-ing sheeple, even a lefty sheeple. Don't react like a maga and just take the YouTuber's faux outrage. This is one of the reasons I stopped watching left wing political influencers. They were doing the exact same thing as right wing nutters, using propaganda to get people riled up. I don't like be used on either side.

The other point is, did this old man have any right to go off on the kid? The kid wasn't his, not his monkey, not his circus.

As I've said, I've scolded youngsters who banged on glass at zoos. It really pisses me off when there's a sign a foot away stating, 'Don't bang, tap, hit glass!' And Mom and Dad are standing five feet away, oblivious. (Yes, I'm one of those people who will not sit next to babies in restaurants, planes, trains...)

So, you influencers - do better. Stop acting like a propagandist for clicks. No one should be making a living on YouTube, but if you gotta, do it right.
