It's All Relative
Years ago I decided to buy one of those new fangled vacuums, one you plug in and pull off its base for small spills. I took it out of the box in my living room on my lovely white carpet and plugged it in. Dust cane out of the container so I opened it to find it had already been used. The detachable cup was stuffed with what looked to be carpet remains and foam, completely stuffed inside. I honestly don't remember if I took it back or just emptied it and used it. It was just dirt after all.
Unlike this woman who bought a small urn for her mother's ashes on Amazon - already filled.
What do you do with a stranger's ashes? Amazon gave her a refund and she tried communicating with the third party who sold the urn through Amazon to no avail.
I hate third party sellers. I no longer use Amazon but never had any issues there, but Walmart better get its act together. I have had nothing but issues when I buy through third parties. Last Christmas I found a train set that carries food around a table, one of those gimmicks you see in Japanese restaurants. The description stated what you'd get, plus even showed a picture of a full set that turns on and goes around the table. Fun! I ordered it and surprisingly received a package a week later, all the way from China. As I opened it I said to myself, "Self, this can't be it." Four little cars on a two foot long track was all there was- and it came from a guy named, Jerry, from California.
Right now I'm waiting for my Disclosure Day popcorn bucket that is being "prepared." It's been in the preparing process for three weeks now. I had previously tried to order this much needed item from another company who cancelled the sale. I think this is where the scam doth come into play.
This also happened to me on eBay. You find a product that is suspiciously low in price, order it and never hear from them again. I think it's like a bank or a pyramid scheme. They sell nothing, receive money and make a living in a loop of deception. My popcorn bucket is expected to arrive in early July. I'm guessing I'll never see it. Big businesses need to be a bit more diligent regarding these third party scammers. It's not all bad. Thriftbooks sells through Walmart and I don't have to pay for shipping because I'm a member. On their website I need to order a certain amount to get free shipping. Yeah, who's the scammer now, pal? Me, that's who.
We're all chasing the cheap, all looking for an easy buck. Some will sell dirty vacuums, others, their dead relative. Anyway, I hope the ashes go somewhere nice.
Gee, I think that was carpet remains in my vacuum. 😬
