Me(ta) Thinks We're Screwed

So, I put my phone down for a break and started thinking. I thought about think tanks and wondered what they're actually thinking about. I have one idea.

I think they'd like to annihilate the human race. Oh, not everybody but those who to them serve no viable purpose. The homeless, the terminally ill, the mentally ill, those with intellectual disabilities, felons and anyone who can't hold a job.

When these rich and powerful people get together along with mad scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers and Mensa alumni, they aren't thinking about how to better life for humanity. They are planning on how to take everything they can possibly can while they are here and mold a future of a super race. I'm sure they whisper amongst themselves as they drink Cristal and smoke Cuban cigars how they can live decades longer in a world made for just for them and their silver spooned offspring.

So, they need to get rid of the needy- those poor slobs who can't pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Robots can fulfill the requirements of unskilled labor. No more humans picking up trash, watching your children, making deliveries... Well, you get the picture. The few times I've had to look at Mark Zuckerberg's mug I have no doubt this is something he is working on. The rise of AI data centers, robotics and drones is growing exponentially. It won't be a hundred years of mankind working with robots. It will be a few years. The few perfectly perfect humans will coexist with la macchina as the minority while the planet carries on as it always has.

Of course there are no perfectly perfect humans at the moment. There never can be. Those like Zuckerman who feel superior lack human decency. If the heart is the symbol for love, they walk around with as much empathy and kindness as the robots they are creating. I have little doubt they will get what they want eventually with a little help by the very people they are aiming to dispose of- the very people who fund their dystopian world. I've given up scolding people who still continue to feed the monsters. Facebook, Amazon and a host of hundreds. I'm sure I use these products too. Google, anyone? It's too late to go back unless all technology is wiped out somehow. That doesn't bode well for anyone, even the thinkers in the tanks.

A brave new world, indeed.
