Because We Don't Matter
I dunno, I'm about to go postal, right after I clean and organize my closet. I've been following the Ariel Konig trial where the creep she married tried to kill her. He thought she was cheating on him so decided the only solution was to kill her, the mother of his two children. During the trial Ariel Konig admitted she was flirt cheating with a coworker and that's as far as it went. So for a birthday present, Gerhardt thought a nice hike in a heavily forested trail site with cliffs all about would be a nice present. After walking a bit and hubby insisting his wife stand by a cliff for a good photo op, Ariel started feeling frightened, and with good reason, because her betrothed wanted to kill her. When she wouldn't comply and just let him push her off he started screaming at her. He pushed her down, straddled her then pulled a syringe out of his pocket. She managed to bat the syringe away so he picked up a rock and started bashing her head in. This all because she had texted another man. As Ariel was being attacked, she screamed for help. Two women heard her screams and called out to her. "We hear you. We're calling 911." This stopped Gerhardt from his mission and Ariel who could barely walk crawled out to the women who saved her life. As Gerhardt stood back, he called his young son and told him he just tried to murder his stepmom and he was now going to jump off a cliff.
As video shows the three women slowly walking out of the trail, a police officer stands there doing fucking jack shit. He said he was assessing the situation. He never went to the women, never checked her out, just stood and waited for someone else to deal with the situation.
As Gerhardt stood on the trail, rethinking his plan, he again calls his teenage son.
Eventually more police show up and Gerhardt is taken into custody. Ariel is taken to the hospital where later pictures show the left side of her head bashed in.
The evidence was overwhelming that Gerhardt Konig had planned the murder of his wife because he thought it was a man's right to kill a cheating spouse, even one who flirt texted.
Yesterday, the jury came back with the verdict of manslaughter. The maximum prison sentence is twenty years. I'm going to guess they blame Ariel for making her husband become angry and the only solution was death. If only she had been a dutiful wife. If only she fucked her husband more than once a day. If only ....
Gerhardt's young son had taken the stand in defense of his stepmother. He never once looked at his father who he only called the defendant. Ariel is now raising him and their two children. Konig will be out I'm sure way before the twenty years, if he gets that. Seeing how things are going he might just get probation. Because after all, it was her fault.
*Brava to the women who saved her life. I hate when the truth is pixelated but I cannot find one image which shows the true extent of her bloodied, bashed in head. Shame on the first cop and shame on the jury who failed this woman.
