Freedom's Just Another Word...

What would you do without my wisdom and input? Seriously folks, I'm here to guide you to face reality and reason. Some of you have been too brainwashed to come back, but maybe I can convince a few of you that the world doesn't revolve around you and your needs. Bluesky has been infiltrated with bots and trolls which should make the founders extremely happy. I try to avoid the obvious, but occasionally get into a kerfuffle. Whatevs. However, there is a guy on YouTube who has been given a dose of Maggie medicine. He's a Norwegian who travels the winter season in the Arctic. It is absolutely beautiful if you love snow, wind, darkness and the Northern lights. I do! He does capture the beauty of the Arctic with his cameras and drones. His last visit he talked about the way of life he has chosen, one of preferred solitude. It's clear he doesn't like people which is one of the reasons he lives alone for months. He never has mentioned any relationships other than he has a mother and sister, nothing regarding ever having a partner. He made his money producing music and lived in California until Covid hit. He sometimes plays what he calls his music which is a bunch of digitalized sounds that make me want to plug my ears or jump off a building. After Covid which he said killed the music industry he decided to become a recluse and live free without time constraints or answering to anyone else.

To this I say, "hogwash," and I told him so. His free range roaming relies on the people who watch his videos. It reminded me of another YouTuber who would go to fancy restaurants and show the viewers the fabulous meals he was enjoying. I saw a comment to him, thanking him for sharing the absolute fun he must be experiencing. I probably popped his bubble when I said this YouTuber was living his best life on your dime! While you sit at home in your underwear salivating over steak tartare and caviar, this guy is laughing at you, mocking you as he lives off of you, the viewer. It's the same with the traveling Norwegian. He wants everyone to be as free as he is. He did reply to my first comment where I pointed out that he couldn't live his life without funds. He said I didn't understand his sentiment. Oh, I certainly do understand. Unfortunately, society cannot exist with his sentiment. I then again responded pointing out to him how he very much relies on humans, time and schedules. He needs fuel, food, ferries and plows to live his life. Behind all that machinery are people who keep his little life going. He is positively giddy when he explains all his modern technology which binds him to this planet. He relies on satellites and Elon Musk's, Starlink. He especially needs viewers to pay for his freedom and his expensive cameras, drones and his fancy van.

I enjoyed his videos because I love the images of the Arctic. I'm also not a people person but I'm also not delusional into thinking they are useless. He showed his true colors during New Year's Eve when he was going through a village that was popular for new year festivities. He mumbled and grumbled as he drove by happy tourists as if they weren't allowed to enjoy the beauty. He was doing exactly what they were doing yet he was angry with their intrusion into his voluntary seclusion. Yeah, he's a tad weird. You have to be a bit odd to want to try and remove yourself completely from society. As an introvert this girl gets it, but I am under no illusions that I can live on this planet wholly independent.

So he may protest all he wants but perhaps my comment will open up the eyes of those supporting him. He is not autonomous. He is not free. He lives off your vicarious views and wishful thoughts.

He has more gadgets than I do, which binds him to this planet. It's just a different way to connect. He's full of bs and just wants to live off others.
