Scott Adams Fafoed
I rarely follow the advice of the majority when it comes to leaving the dead in peace, even if they were miserable human beings. We're not supposed to say they were miserable human beings. My father wasn't a monster, but he was not involved in his five daughter's lives unless it was to yell at us. There were moments he stepped up as a dad like the time my sister got stranded 400 miles away and he drove to get her. He was good with helping others. He kept road flares in the trunk of his car in case there was an accident and someone needed help. He shared the vegetables he grew in his garden with the bar hops at his favorite watering hole. Like all of us he was a complex human being. He was raised in a time where men showed no emotions other than anger. So on the day of his funeral I remained mute after the pastor asked if anyone wanted to get up and say a few kind words for M. You could hear the clock in the hallway tick because of the silence. Finally my brother in law stood up and walked to the podium. It was clear he was angry at us because we refused to even fake it and try and find something good to say. If you're not such a good person in life I'm not going to pretend you were and I don't think we should remain mute when bad people die.
Yesterday I had planned on writing about Scott Adams, the creator of the comic, Dilbert. I might have read the comic years ago in a print newspaper. I don't recall it being that interesting. Adams died yesterday from cancer. He was 68. If you go through the media today you will find the standard obit, written by some intern years ago, ready to be shared. I'm sure right wing rags will have some nice things to say about him. They'll have to dig pretty deep. I don't see anything nice to write about him. This is where I should leave it, right? But, I keep thinking about this and him and the choices he made in life. I write this because I don't want people glorifying this person after his death like they are doing with Charlie Kirk. Both men were awful human beings. The world is better off without them. Below is an example of some of Adam's beliefs.
When Adams found out he had cancer he begged Trump to help him. I guess he didn't have a million dollars to hand over. Trump doesn't bother otherwise. Adams allegedly converted to Catholicism shortly before his death, " just in case."
As far as I can see, he had no redeeming qualities. But I'm sure I will see little tributes to him, likely the potato head Dilbert crying or some sentimental crap like that.
Charlie Kirk was a racist, misogynistic piece of garbage.
Scott Adams was a weird, creepy, horrible human who made a living drawing potato heads.
That it was you need to remember.
