Smile!
I have not had a real person check out my purchases in a very long time at a box store. One, because I usually order online and two, because I use self checkout. The last time I shopped at a Target was when Kyle Rittenhouse and gang stormed our K-town and I was offered the chance to head out of town until things cooled off. It was a good decision because Kyle shot three people outside my home. I might have joined the crowd that night. But, I digress because this is about smiling people. Target wants it's employees to greet every customer with a big smile and a, "How ya doing! Did you find everything you were looking for!?" (((Smile))) I have been tempted to say no and see what they actually do, but I understand they are under orders to ask this, so I let it go. I have only worked retail once back in the day during the holiday season to make some extra cash. It was at a Toys R (imagine a backwards R) Us, in the affluent side of town. Women wore three carat diamond rings and fur coats whilst arguing over the price of a plastic car set. I absolutely hated every minute of it. I was not a smiler. As ferrerman says, his resting face is bitch mode, I can relate. Mine is, fuck off, I hate you. The managers didn't care because at the end of my shift my money tray was always balanced.
I would have liked to have been in the meeting where the Target suits were mulling over how to bring back customers after they got a real beating by being cowards and giving in to maga mentality.
Corporate: "Joe, how can we get our customers back?"
Joe: "Lower prices?"
Bzzzzzzzzzzzz
Corporate: "Anna, what do you suggest?"
Anna: "Be more inclusive and lower prices?"
Bzzzzzzzzzz
Corporate: "ChatGPT, what do you recommend?"
AI: Smile! Everyone likes a smile. It puts a frown right side up! Would you like me to write a song for you?"
Corporate: "That's it! Every employee must smile and be super friendly. Customers will feel so special they'll come back to us once again." 🎯
Yeah, so now the pressure is on the employee who makes shit for a salary and has to deal with stressed customers, crying children, angry managers...
Smile!
Here's the ditty from ChatGPT, who especially seemed to like this request since it went on and on...
